Join us as we embrace the quiet beauty of winter at Platform Exhibitions' latest endeavor, "In A Distant Memory" - a group art exhibition  at Abbotsford Convent on the 29th of June.

The theme "In a Distant Memory" beckons you to journey through the nuanced layers of time, memory, and longing, inviting you to immerse yourself in a rich tapestry of human experience.

​

We invite you to embark on this journey of discovery, to lose yourself in the beauty of remembrance, and to find solace in the shared experience of longing.

Ticket Price: $25 (Kids under 16 + and those identifying as First Nations or Torres Strait Islanders are free)

Applications are now open for all artists aged 18+

Our exhibitions are for artists of all skill-sets; emerging, established or professional. 
We curate our events so that an array of different art mediums is represented at every exhibition. If you haven’t seen work like yours presented with us before, there’s all the more reason to apply.

interested in hosting a market stall with us?

Market stall EOIs are open for all makers, crafters, designers, collectors and more

​

Items permitted includes (and are not limited to): clothes, accessories, ceramic, stickers, stationary, personalised items, records, books, pre-loved garments, art kits for home and more 


Artists wanting to sell prints or works on canvas are not permitted to host a market stall and are instead encouraged to apply to exhibit with us on our walls. 

​

FEES: Full Table $60 // Shared Table $35

TICKETS

Guest tickets for 'In A Distant Memory' is currently not live yet and will be released on the 27th of May.

​

All guest tickets are $25

(Those identifying as First Nations or Torres Strait Islanders are free)

​

GETTING TO 'IN A DISTANT MEMORY'

Public Transport

​

Train:

Catch a Mernda or Hurstbridge line train to Victoria Park Station. The train station is a 10-15 minutes walk to the Convent

​

Bus:

Bus 200 or 207 bus down Johnston St to Clarke St stop. The bus stop is a 3-5 minute walk to the Convent.

​

Parking

All day parking is available in the car park directly across from the Convent on St Heliers Street. The machines accept credit cards, notes and gold coins. Funds from the car park go towards the restoration and daily operation of the Convent, and also support our neighbours, the Collingwood Children’s Farm.

​

Parking Weekend rates:
30 mins = $3
$1 per half hour thereafter
5 ½ – 10 hours = $14
$2 per hour after 10 hours

Max daily rate (until 2am) = $28
Additional overnight fee (after 2am) = $25
Lost ticket = $28

Accessibility:

The Store is wheelchair accessible via a private side entrance. Gender-neutral and accessible toilets are available nearby.

Follow the above map to the circled area of Abbotsford Convent. 

 

From the main entrance, you want to keep to the left side; walking past the Convent Bakery. Then turn the first right in the direction of the Heritage Garden. Continue down that path and you'll see signs directing you to the entrance of The Store where our exhibition will be.
