‘A Time of Transition’ was inspired by Hannah’s personal growth journey over the last 12-18 months during the Melbourne lockdown. Hannah explores they cycles of emotion and healing, while embracing the challenging elements that contribute to being human.

 

The Cozy. Exhibition theme to Hannah was looked at as learning to embrace uncomfortable and uneasy feelings, despite how difficult that may be. This time in lockdown has allowed Hannah a lot of time to reflect on her life, her ups and downs, and all the emotions in between. This has allowed her to move through her personal challenges and reach a point of being peaceful and allow her to reach a point of ease and cozy-ness within herself.

 

‘A Time of Transition’ asks us to reflect on our own experiences when we’ve been able to acknowledge our emotions and feelings for what they are. How, as people, we can move our focus to problem solving and learn to walk through those feelings into a new, enlightened space. Our emotions are so integral to who we are as people and if we don’t listen to what’s going on internally, we miss out on so much self-discovery and learning about ourselves. The days when we feel our lowest, are just as important as they day’s we feel our best. Without the hard, we don’t know or understand our best. 

 

Hannah’s vibrant and colourful piece creates feelings of warmth and comfort as we follow the illustrated character through their period of growth and transition. Hannah appreciates that there is beauty in the harsh and that although we may feel dulled, there’s always a point where that shell falls away and your inner light begins to grow.
